William "Bill" Thomas Scholarship

Funded by Virginia Tech, the William “Bill” Thomas Scholarship is a one time scholarship awarded to students who are members of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated financial need as determined by FAFSA, students with leadership experience, and students who give back through community service. Changes in funding may cause Virginia Tech to replace this award with another award for the same amount.

  1. List your positions in the VA Kappa chapter and any other campus organizations where you are involved. Include any awards or community service involvement.
  2. Describe briefly how you have fostered the spirit of Ut Prosim and the Sigma Phi Epsilon cardinal principles of virtue, diligence and brotherly love since you have been a member of VA Kappa. Additionally, please touch on the contributions you hope to make to the VA Kappa SigEP Learning Community, as a resident of the living learning facility next year.
  3. This scholarship is designed to support members of Sigma Phi Epsilon who demonstrate leadership, service, and financial need. Please describe your motivation for applying, how receiving this scholarship would help reduce financial barriers or stress, and how it would support your academic, professional, or personal development goals. Share any specific experiences or opportunities this funding would help make possible.
