MIT Scholars

The VT-MIT Scholarship (MIT Scholars) provides an award starting at $2,000 per fall or spring term to assist with tuition and fees for students pursuing the Master of Information Technology (VT-MIT) degree. This scholarship supports students whose backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives contribute unique value to the VT-MIT program and the broader field of information technology. To be eligible, students must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens, entering their first semester in the VT-MIT program in a fall or spring term, received a degree-seeking admission to VT-MIT, and enroll in at least six MIT credit hours. The scholarship is renewable for up to four award terms, upon maintaining eligibility conditions of good academic standing and continuous enrollment of at least six MIT credits each fall and spring term (or complete a minimum of four courses per academic year). Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship may be combined with other scholarships or employer tuition assistance; however, the award may be reduced or canceled if a student cannot maintain eligibility or receives full tuition coverage from non-need-based external sources.
