Bevlee A. Watford Opportunity Scholarship

Funded by Virginia Tech, the Dr. Bevlee A. Watford Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to students in underrepresented populations within the College of Engineering who demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students are required to be academic year participants of one or more of the following officially recognized registered student organizations, or successor organizations, as long as they remain registered student organizations at Virginia Tech: African Students Association, Student African American Brotherhood at Virginia Tech, Student African American Sisterhood at Virginia Tech, Black Students in STEM, Black Organizations Council, Black Student Alliance, National Association of Black Accountants, or the National Society of Black Engineers. Preference will be given to students who have participated in CEED’s Pre-College Initiative coordinated by the Virginia Tech Chapter of National Society of Black Engineers. This scholarship may be renewable for up to 3 years if student remains eligible. Changes in funding may cause VT to replace this award with another award of the same amount.
