Francis H. Chaney II Scholarship for Sustainable Land Use Study

Recipients shall be undergraduate students with a demonstrated interest in pursuing studies in the area of sustainable land use and majoring among various courses of related study and intent to double major in real estate. Examples of related majors include: Agricultural and Applied Economics; Building Construction; Civil and Environmental Engineering; Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences; Resources and Environmental Conservation; Forestry; Geography; Geosciences; Horticulture; Landscape Architecture; Mining and Materials Engineering; Property Management; Sustainable Biomaterials; and Urban Affairs and Planning. Recipients shall be undergraduate students pursuing a dual degree majoring in the real estate program and one of the above-mentioned areas of sustainable land use. Preference for selection of recipients shall also be given according to the Guidelines listed in item 3 below. All awards, described above, shall be made according to the following Guidelines: Preference shall be given to students with a minimum grade point average of 2.75. Preference will be given to students from Maryland. Financial need of the applicants may be considered, but is not a requirement. Preference may also be given to previous recipients who continue to qualify in subsequent academic periods.
